The tower was ordered from Cheerio ... cupcake lace is a gathered 2 1/4 inch lace cut into 8 1/2 inch pieces. Each was overlapped 1/4 inch and stitched. I found they held their shape best if I put them over white cupcake papers on 3 oz plastic sample cups. I think it will be easier to switch the cupcakes into them as we set up the tower. Also they should be easier to serve this way.

The tower looks great with 60 cupcakes circling the edge of each layer, or up to the 110 cupcakes shown here... sans cupcake ...
I am glad I got the 7 layer one!
